 About SFCAHT

The San Francisco Collaborative Against Human Trafficking (SFCAHT) has a membership of over 30 agencies representing a broad array of nongovernmental organizations, government agencies, law enforcement agencies, service providers, educators, and community members. SFCAHT is chaired by community advocate Nancy Goldberg from the Jewish Family and Children's Services and Diana Oliva-Aroche from the San Francisco Mayor's Office. It is staffed by members of HRC and Department on the Status of Women who manage the day-to-day functions and communications of the Collaborative. SFCAHT is committed to ending human trafficking through collaboration, education, outreach, advocacy, and supporting survivors of human trafficking by taking a zero tolerance stance on exploitation, violence, and human trafficking and building a strong group of anti-trafficking advocates and experts in San Francisco.

If you suspect that human trafficking is taking place, please contact SFPD's Vice Crimes tip line at (415) 643-6233.

 Annual Human Trafficking Awareness Month

Since 2010, the City of San Francisco formally recognized the dates between January 11 (National Human Trafficking Awareness Day) and February 12 (Abraham Lincoln’s Birthday) as Human Trafficking Awareness Month. During this month, SFCAHT coordinates and publishes a calendar of events to be held by different organizations participating in this very important annual event. To view list of annual events, please click on each year.

 How to Get Involved

  • Get added to our mailing list: To receive notices of upcoming public events sponsored by SFCAHT or by our partners and to stay informed about anti-human trafficking efforts in San Francisco, email Taraneh.Moayed@sfgov.org and request that you be added to our mailing list.
  • Become a Member Agency: SFCAHT is currently defining its membership criteria and application process this spring. Agencies currently working to end human trafficking or support survivors of trafficking that would like to join the Collaborative can check back soon for more information about how to join SFCAHT.
  • Volunteer or intern with one of our partners: Take a look at SFCAHT's 2013 Directory of Services for Survivors of Human Trafficking to find an agency you may want to volunteer for. Each agency has its own protocols for screening and selecting volunteers, a necessary facet of work with this vulnerable community. Contact the agencies directly for details about their various volunteer opportunities. Currently, no volunteer or internship positions exist with the Collaborative itself, so please contact agencies directly for volunteer information.
